Hey, I'm Amy!
I’m the founder of Grounded HR and a passionate advocate for people-first workplaces.
My work centres around helping Australian business owners navigate the often complex and emotional world of people management. Because behind every workplace challenge is a human story — personalities, pressures, ambitions, and sometimes difficult conversations that business owners never expected to be responsible for.
Many of the leaders I work with started their businesses because they were great at their trade, profession, or craft. Managing employees, navigating workplace laws, and handling team dynamics often came later — and not always with a clear roadmap.
That’s where my work begins.
With a Bachelor of Business specialising in Human Resources and Industrial Relations, and professional registration with the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), I bring both the technical expertise and the practical understanding needed to support Australian businesses in building strong, sustainable teams.
But my approach has never been about ticking HR boxes or hiding behind policies.
At the heart of everything I do is a belief that people are the foundation of every successful business.
I take the time to understand the individuals within a workplace — the business owner, the leaders, and the employees — because culture, performance, and growth all start with people.
My superpower lies in my ability to bring out the best in others.
Whether that means supporting an employee to grow into their potential, or helping a business owner lead with greater clarity and confidence, I believe the strongest workplaces are built when people feel seen, heard, and valued.
I thrive on creating positive workplaces where employees feel respected and business leaders feel supported, knowing they have someone beside them to help navigate the challenges that inevitably arise when people work together.
For me, HR has never just been about compliance or policies.
It’s about helping businesses create environments where people can do their best work, where leaders feel confident in their decisions, and where workplaces grow in a way that supports both the business and the humans behind it.
